Dr. M. Carolina Karam-Demori

M. Carolina Karam Demori, M.D., F.A.C.C. is Director of Cardiopulmonary Medicine at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Assistant Professor of Medicine, and Assistant Medical Director of the Rush Heart Center for Women, at Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Karam Demori earned her medical degree from Luis Razetti Medical School at the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, followed by graduate work in biostatistics at the Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, MA. She trained in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and in cardiovascular medicine at Rush University Medical Center. She has been at Cook County Hospital since 2006.  She is fluent in Spanish and English and has served as the American Heart Association media spokesperson for the Hispanic community.

Dr. Karam Demori is certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology, and adult echocardiography. Her primary interests include pulmonary hypertension, valvular heart disease, heart failure, non-invasive cardiac imaging, and cardiovascular disease in women.
