Dr. Rami Doukky's Bio

Rami Doukky, M.D., F.A.C.C. is the director of nuclear cardiology. He is an assistant professor of medicine at Rush Medical College. Dr. Doukky is a graduate of Aleppo University Medical School (Aleppo, Syria). He trained in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine at Cook County Hospital, where he served a year as a chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow. He joined faculty in 2002. He is also on staff at Rush University Medical Center. His primary expertise is in the field of non-invasive cardiac imaging including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiac computed tomography. Dr. Doukky is Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology (CBNC), and echocardiography (NBE). His clinical interests include valvular heart disease, diastology, risk stratification of coronary artery disease, and pre-operative risk assessment. Some of his current research work includes echocardiographic assessment of diastolic left ventricular function in asymptomatic African Americans, the assessment of myocardial perfusion using cardiac computed tomography, and risk assessment in patients undergoing high risk vascular surgery. Dr. Doukky is the recipient of several teaching awards. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, fellow of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and a founding member of the Society of Cardiac Computed Tomography.
