Payman Sattar, M.D., F.A.C.C. is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Cardiology at Rush University Medical Center and the director of the cardiology, and lipid clinics at John Stroger Hospital of Cook County.  He is a graduate of University of Illinois where he received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in molecular biology.  He attended medical school, completed internal medicine residency, and cardiology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.  He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.  Dr. Sattar’s clinical interests include interventional and non-invasive cardiology.  His procedural skills include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.  Dr.  Sattar’s research interests include the impact of cocaine use on coronary artery disease.  He is currently conducting several clinical trials in the fields of atrial fibrillation.  He is an alternate board of the Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
